Activity Description

A journey starting from the gate of Ancient Athens, Dipylon at Kerameikos, taking you to the one of the largest spiritual and religious centres of the ancient world, the archaeological site of Eleusis. Experience the journey many made to honor the Goddess Demeter, and learn about “the most famous of the secret religious rites of Ancient Greece. The tour will also take you to key locations between Athens and Eleusis, such as the Monastery of Dafni, and the Sanctuary of Aphrodite in Afea. At the end of the day visitors will follow a presentation into the rich Industrial Heritage of Eleusis and how it was chosen to become the European Capital of Culture in 2021.
