"It was a hike through the gorge that ended with a refreshing swim in the sea. We then had to take a boat to reach the area where our transport was. The guide was excellent in that he helped us through the gorge (2 of us were not that fit) and we did not wear the best foot wear. Our original plan was to do the Samaria gorge but was happy that we were advised otherwise by travel porter. There were few places where there was shade. Activity Description

Join this off-the-beaten track adventure tour in the enchanting area of Sfakia and follow the hidden, alternative to the popular Samaria gorge, away from tourist bus 'traffic jams'! 
Aradena is an impressive gorge located about 19 km west of Chora Sfakion in Chania prefecture. 
Your adventure will start from the southern slopes of the White Mountains, north of the abandoned village of Aradena and will end at the Libyan Sea near the enchanting beach of Marmara. The 6km hike will last about 3-4 hours. During this adventure hiking tour you will take a relaxing break, a swim and then will follow the rocky path to Livaniana. You will get a ride to Aradena bridge and will get free time at beautiful Marmara for swimming and lunch at the traditional taverna. After lunch, with a private taxi boat you will return to Sfakia were your transfer will be waiting to drive you back to Chania early in the evening.
