One of the best things to do in Crete is to discover Greek food and wine with a local expert; and what a better way to experience all this in one of the best wineries in Chania region while you prepare your own delicious Cretan meal under the guidance of a local expert chef. This Cretan cooking class and wine tasting will be a day to remember during your holiday in Crete!

Activity Description

Crete has always been on the top of the Greek food hall of fame! And wine is always the ideal companion of traditional Greek food. During this cooking lesson in Chania, you will make the most of your favourite dishes with the perfect wine companions or use wine as a key ingredient in a recipe. Starting this 4-hour gastronomic experience you will enjoy a winery tour and will thereafter continue with the cooking class by preparing a delicious 5-course Greek menu. You will be provided with instructions on how to use the equipment and the fresh ingredients to prepare your delicious Cretan dishes under the supervision and expert guidance of your chef. Once your meal is ready, you will sit down and enjoy your delicious Greek cooking with a wine tasting of 5 local wines and good company! 

This cooking class and wine tasting experience starts at 9:30am with a tour in the winery and a chat about the cooking day, the menu and the technique. Then guests will cook until approximately 11:30am to 12:00pm and will dine around 1:30pm.

The menu includes green salad with apaki (smoked pork), dakos (barley rusk topped with chopped tomatoes and mizithra cheese), staka dip with eggs, tsigariasto (stewed meat in wine sauce), 'sfakiani' pie with honey (cretan cheese pies).

Excluded: Transfers and anything else not mentioned explicitly as included.

Note: Menu can be adjusted for possible allergies and special dietary requirements to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions. This tour can run only with a minimum of 6 participants. We can accept different bookings on behalf of the vendor until the minimum number of participants is reached. All participants will be notified of a cancellation max. 24 hours before the event and will have the option to reschedule for another event or receive a full refund. 

Young travellers: Kids aged 12-16 y.o. €45 per person. Kids under the age of 12 can request a meal with an additional cost of €15. For health and safety reasons participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Cancellation Policy

Vendor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an event for any reason, upon a 48 hour notification to guests who are entitled to either reschedule for another event or receive a full refund. If guests need to cancel their booking 48 hour or more prior to the event, guests have the option to reschedule for another event (within 3 months after the cancellation date) or receive a full refund. In the event of cancellation after in 47 hours or less before the cooking class, no refund and no option to reschedule to an alternative event. If participant is unable to attend a booked event they can transfer their place to another person upon written advice to the vendor with the name of the new attendee.
